The beginning of the twist

It's giving blood day today, and finally I am allowed to donate again (what with travel to the Caribbean and Dubai ruling that out a few months prior).

Bonuses to giving blood are that people think you're awesome and 'brave' (because invariably they are scared of needles), you get a wee biscuit and a drink, sometimes a really good looking nurse leans over you a lot to make sure everything is going okay and you also lose some weight (albeit temporarily).

I also like getting the free plastic key-loop things that have your blood group displayed on them, mainly because I am a non-common blood group (B+) and people notice it when you leave keys laying around. A surprisingly good topic of conversation.

Most ironically, I've been spending my life walking around with about 7 pints of "be positive" and yet am so unbearably cynical at times.

Still, work is keeping me happily entertained to the point where I am enjoying that feeling of appreciation that sometimes otherwise goes amiss.
